Since settling in Charleston I have created and modified a number of personal residences. I suppose the first was a roof renovation to my parents home in Buffalo New York. The existing tile roof was failing and some of the exterior eve beams were rotting. I used this project as part of my portfolio in my Architecture school application.
My last home in Charleston was in Waegner Park Terrace. I completely renovated the interior of a circa 1978 single story brick ranch. I varied the ceiling height and combined small rooms to make more space.
My former home in Mexico started as a 1 room hovel. The additions to the first floor included new kitchen, new bath and 2 new bedrooms. The second floor is a master suite. I used the vernacular construction methods and labor and ended up with a 3 bed, 2 bath Mexican hideaway.
